This program includes a tour of the museum’s permanent exhibit focused on selected items connected to aspects of the Jewish experience of the War in the Pale of Settlement.
Professors Nathan Wood and Andrew Denning from KU will offer lectures examining, respectively, the War in the Pale of Settlement, particularly as reflected in Ansky’s memoir, The Enemy at His Pleasure: A Journey through the Jewish Pale of Settlement During World War I, and how the Nazi regime later recast the Jewish narrative of World War I.
