Donate to commemorate a yahrtzeit

Purchase a memorial tablet in memory of a loved one.

Our members receive annual Yahrtzeit notices in advance of the anniversary of their loved one’s death. You may dedicate a memorial tablet in memory of your loved one. The tablets are displayed in Goldsmith Hall at the time of the anniversary of your loved one’s death. At the corresponding Shabbat service, our rabbi also will share the name of your family member from the bimah. To purchase a memorial tablet click here.

Unveilings

Congregation Beth Shalom will support you as the days of your mourning period come to a close. Within the first year of a loved one’s passing, mourners gather at the gravesite for a ceremony called the Unveiling. Our Rabbi regularly performs unveiling ceremonies. It can take place any time between the end of Shiva and the first Yahrtzeit. Our mission is to provide a meaningful and spiritual ceremony for all. To ensure the caretaker of Mt. Carmel Cemetery can properly assist family and friends of the deceased, please inform Melisa Gum, the Ritual Coordinator, at ritualassistant@bethshalomkc.org, of any unveilings you would like to schedule.
