Beth Shalom is pleased to continue this shabbat experience which was very popular at Ohev Sholom. It is held once a month at Asbury Methodist Church, across the street from Ohev’s former building. This program is in addition to our weekly Shabbat morning services on the Lamar Campus.

You can listen to music samples below.

Our service leaders – Anna Jaffe and one of our clergy – shepherd a worship experience that blends traditional and contemporary elements. We follow a traditional structure that includes Pesukei D’Zimra, Shacharit, the Torah service and Musaf. While adhering to the halachic requirements of the Conservative movement, it balances tradition with innovation.

We want you to feel comfortable participating, bringing your children and enjoying the warmth and joy of fellowship that music inspires.

We call this blended service “Shir L’Shabbat,” which has multiple nuances, the two most primary being “Song of Shabbat” and “Song for Shabbat.” We believe the name captures the principal aim of the experience, which is to take the inspirational experience of Shabbat worship up a notch through song.

Temporary Location of Shir L’Shabbat: Asbury Methodist Church, 5400 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208, across the street from Ohev’s former building.

We hope to see you!
